World Travel Awards 2025: Arbatax Park Confirmed as Best Eco Resort and Best Sensory Garden in the World
For the seventh consecutive year, the Arbatax Park Resort, the Sardinian hospitality property owned by the Mazzella Group, takes home the most coveted and prestigious international award that the World Travel Awards (considered the Oscars of tourism) assign to the best Eco Sustainable reality in the global tourism sector, ranking 1st in the categories World’s Leading Eco Resort 2025 and World’s Leading Resort Sensory Garden 2025.
The announcement was made during the Grand Final Gala Ceremony held on December 6th in Bahrain.
Global recognitions that add to those achieved last October 22nd as Europe’s Leading Eco Resort 2025 and Italy’s Leading Eco Resort 2025 at the Forte Village Resort in Sardinia.
The recent proclamation of Arbatax Park as the Best Eco Resort in the World brings the magical land of Sardinia—a symbol of ancient strength, beauty, and longevity—back to the international spotlight, allowing it to be identified as the Queen of eco-sustainable hospitality worldwide.
The recognition awarded to the Garden of Wonders further underscores the Resort’s focus on enchanting experiences in contact with nature.
“It is truly an immense honor for us to bring home the most coveted tourism award in the world, with an additional recognition dedicated to our Garden of Wonders,” say Giorgio and Attilio Mazzella.
“This is an important result born from our vision and from the commitment and dedication with which our Staff supports us every day. We sincerely thank all those who chose to support us in this ambitious challenge.”
The History of the Resort
Arbatax Park Resort was founded in 2010 from the vision of entrepreneurs Giorgio and Angela Mazzella, always committed to the island’s tourism development.
Sharing a passion for nature, preserving local traditions, and spreading the importance of protecting the environment have always been the cornerstones of the Resort’s philosophy.
Among its many creations, the Garden of Wonders is a charming green space for adults and children to stroll among colorful flowers, practice relaxing activities such as yoga and meditation, and enjoy sensory experiences through paths designed to stimulate the five senses.
Arbatax Park stands on a peninsula of over 60 hectares of unspoiled nature, a magical place that hosts the only Resort in the world featuring a modern concept of global wellness within a nature reserve, the Bellavista Park.
Among more than 500,000 plants, over 500 animals and 5,000 meters of pathways, every day 500 people take care of Guests and the Park.
Inside, there is also a Wellness Center and SPA where water is the primary element for health and well-being, and an organic garden where each guest can try their hand at cultivating and harvesting vegetables and legumes.
An Eco-Sustainable Resort
At Arbatax Park Resort, everything is designed to protect the environment, thanks to the various eco-friendly activities carried out daily. Special attention is dedicated to recycling and using alternative energy sources, which over the years have made this place a precious source of inspiration and a resource to protect through small daily gestures, best practices, and territorial enhancement initiatives that trace a concrete path toward a sustainable future for new generations.
Sustainability does not end with good environmental practices but implies activities that enhance and integrate with the local territory, such as the network of solidarity gardens that supply the resort with zero-kilometer products, and initiatives like “CleanUp Day” held periodically to clear coasts and seabeds of waste and plastic.
There are also gastronomic evenings dedicated to the recipes of Centenarians during the “A Chent’annos … a tavola!” event to promote the culinary traditions of Ogliastra, one of the 5 Blue Zones in the world, as well as initiatives that celebrate well-known and emerging Sardinian musicians thanks to the summer events “InCantos”.
