World Travel Awards 2024: Arbatax Park once again the Best Eco Resort in Italy and Europe
Arbatax Park Resort has received a double recognition, climbing to the top of the podium at the World Travel Awards 2024 for the sixth consecutive year. The resort was recognized as the first-place winner in the categories of „Europe’s Leading Eco Resort“ and „Italy’s Leading Eco Resort„.
The award ceremony was held on Wednesday, March 6th in Berlin, during an eagerly anticipated Grand Final Gala Ceremony at The Ritz Carlton.

This is an important confirmation, rewarding our deep love for our land and motivating us to continuously improve, striving in our operations not only to safeguard the environment but also to preserve the authenticity of the land that hosts us with a new concept of sustainability.”
Among the various initiatives aimed at environmental conservation implemented by the Resort: recycling, composting, rainwater harvesting, and the use of photovoltaic panels, which allow us to power a significant portion of Arbatax Park. Our goal for the future is to use exclusively green energy sources to become the first Carbon Neutral Resort in Sardinia.
Sustainability does not end with good environmental practices but also involves activities that enhance and integrate with the local area, such as the “Clean Up” initiatives organized periodically to clean the coasts and seabeds of waste and plastic aboard the M/y Stella, an old fishermen’s boat restored by the Mazzella Group and equipped with electric propulsion engines, awarded at the Venice Boat Show as the “Best eco-boat in the Mediterranean”.
Furthermore, the involvement of local students in initiatives related to environmental conservation, running competitions held within the Bellavista Natural Park as well as along the streets of Arbatax, culinary events dedicated to the recipes of Centenarians during the event “A Chent’annos … a tavola!” to introduce the traditions of the cuisine of Ogliastra, one of the 5 Blue Zones in the world, or the promotion of local musicians, both well-known and emerging, through summer events.
Arbatax Park Resort was founded in 2010 from the vision of entrepreneurs Giorgio and Angela Mazzella, who have always been committed to the Sardinian tourism development. Sharing a passion for nature, keeping alive the traditions of the area, and spreading the importance of environmental protection have always been the core principles on which the resort’s philosophy is based. Among the latest creations is the Garden of Wonders, an enchanting green corner for both adults and children where one can walk, admire the flowers, and engage in activities such as yoga and meditation.
