Double Award for Arbatax Park Resort that gets on the highest podium of the World Travel Awards for the fourth time in a row. The property has been recognized as the first classified as « Europe’s Leading Eco Resort » and « Italy’s Leading Eco Resort« .

The award ceremony took place on Saturday 1 October on the island of Mallorca, during a long-awaited Grand Final Gala Ceremony at the Hilton Mallorca Galatzo.

The important awards have been collected by Attilio Mazzella, Chief Development Officer of the Mazzella Group.

“We are honored to receive this award, which is a source of pride for us and for the entire Arbatax Park Resort Team. It comes thanks to the constant and daily work that we have been carrying out for years together with a passionate and professionals staff. An important confirmation, which rewards the great love for our land and motivates us to constantly improve, trying, through our activity, not only to protect the environment, but to preserve the authenticity of the land that hosts us. The new concept of sustainability does not end with good practices but involves activities of integration and enhancement of the territory, says Attilio Mazzella.
We have added an additional source of clean energy, thanks to the implementation of photovoltaic panels, which allow us to feed a good part of the Arbatax Park.
Beside that various initiatives aimed at protecting the environment, such as recycling, composting, rainwater recovery and the use of vegetables and fruit from our gardens for the guests of the resort.
Our goal for the future is to use only forms of green energy to get to be the first Carbon Neutral Resort in Sardinia ».

Sustainability does not end with good environmental protection practices but involves activities of enhancement and integration with the territory:

The network of solidarity gardens that provide the resort with zero-kilometre products;

The « clean up » activities organized periodically to clean the coasts and seabed onboard the M/y Stella from waste and plastic, an old fishing boat restored by the Mazzella Group and equipped with electrically propelled engines, that awarded this year at the Venice Boat Show as « Best eco boat in the Mediterranean ».

Once more, the recent foot competition that took place within the Bellavista Natural Park but also along the streets of the seaside village of Arbatax;

The gastronomic evenings dedicated to the recipes of the Centenarians during the « A Chent ‘annos… a tavola! » festival to discover the traditions of the cuisine of Ogliastra, one of the 5 Blue Zones in the world, or the enhancement of Sardinian musicians known and emerging thanks to the summer events of InCantos.

The Arbatax Park Resort was founded in 2010 from the vision of entrepreneurs Giorgio and Angela Mazzella, who have always been involved in the tourist development of the island. Sharing the passion for nature, keeping the traditions of the area alive and spreading the importance of safeguarding the environment have always been the firm points on which the philosophy of the resort is based.
