World Travel Awards 2024: Arbatax Park confirmed as the World’s Leading Eco Resort and World’s Leading Resort Sensory Garden For…
In Sardinia we are getting ready for the grape harvest of the Cannonau, the most famous Sardinian vine. It is spread throughout the island and finds its ideal environment in the most central areas, especially in Ogliastra. It has been recently recognized as one of the oldest wines in the Mediterranean because, until recently, we did not know with certainty the origin and most experts mistakenly thought it was imported from the Iberian Peninsula. However, recent studies have shown its endemicity thanks to the discovery of the remains of grape seeds dating back to 3200 years ago in different parts of the island. It’s the red wine that, perhaps more than any other, immediately calls to mind Sardinia, its traditions and its friendly hospitality, so as to draw the attention and interest of international experts such as John Brunton, the British representative of the Vinitaly jury , wine and food expert journalist for the famous British newspaper « The Guardian ». This year the forecast for the harvest is promising and we are expecting a very high quality product if there will still be these optimal conditions of low humidity until the end of the first week of September. To show you this important event and make you live an unforgettable experience, Arbatax Park has designed for you a one week package, with transfer included and a whole day to discover one of the most famous and traditional wineries in the area, where you can discover all the secrets of the grape harvest, but also taste some of the best local wine products.
